Hi! I'm Elise Monsen, and I've had an interest in art - especially art history - ever since I was very small.
I'm a concept design major, and learning how to do this properly is, unfortunately, not as simple as drawing freely and often. It requires intense study of concepts and history - the sociological and cultural impact art can have, as well as analyzing and replicating style and technique.
I've always found Japanese art to be very beautiful, the simplicity and grace that a few lines can hold. Furthermore, the way it has evolved is just as interesting. The way art develops, what forms are emphasized, what materials are used, what is depicted, tells a lot about what a culture values.
